Specialist High Skill Major

We have some really exciting things happening over the next few months at Blakelock. We are introducing 2 new Specialist High Skills Majors- Energy and Information and Communication Technology. These 2 new programs will provide students with opportunities in a variety of areas from the Energy sector, including Construction and Manufacturing. In Information and Communication Technology, Information Science and Computer Engineering. With our Specialist High Skills Major credits, students can explore ALL pathways-Apprenticeship, College, University and Workplace.

Already established is our Creative Arts and Culture Specialist High Skills Major. Students can explore opportunities in the Drama, Music and Visual Arts. They are provide with the opportunity visit various working environment, with a focus in the area they are most interested in. Student are certified in CPR and First Aid, participate in a WHMIS training session and other specific training for their sector. Along with these ventures, student will participate in a Cooperative Job experience in their areas of choice. It is a very exciting time in education! An time when ALL students can be successful through the various programs that are rolling out! Get on Board!

We continue chugging along through the semester and finally, we are at March Break. The prospect of our senior students going on to bigger things, after high school, can be a time of excitement, a feeling that overwhelms you. Where do you go, what do you do when you get there? For some, the question, HOW DO I GET THERE is ringing in their ear. It is never too early to start exploring your options:

Scientifically Yours! A 2-Day Event hosted by Brock University, Faculty of Science. For grade 11 girls interested in the Sciences. Live on campus and gain valuable hands-on experiences in the Sciences. May 5-6. See Student Services for details.
Have you every wonder what University has the most applicants from Blakelock? (Maybe I'm the only one who does).
